Bullitt "S"

THE BULLITT "S" A NEW HP BOAT
The perfect poor conditions boat, to big, to small, long paddle out, messy
c..

There are going to be certain condtions where it is likely to excell.!

It was very clear at Mundaka recently that in small surf the longer boats were both ,catching waves easier and looking more dynamic, other situations I can see would be big beach break days, places with a long paddle out, Mundaka, Santa Cruz for example.
Before IC boats were stopped from entering HP how many times were paddlers using IC boats on the HP rostram? We've already seen that the Bullitt lends itself to a far more HP style of paddling and with the addition of fins I reckon this little baby will have a good following.

Hi Malcolm

As promised here are my thoughts on the Bullitt. I don’t think I can do a full review on the basis of a quick paddle in Saturday’s conditions but this is what made me place the order.

The background is that I have had the best part of a season off due to child rearing and a house move. I sold my composite X-ray last summer and have had a dabble with a wave-ski. The ski was just going to need too much time to get the hang of, hence me thinking it was about time to get another boat and get back in the water. I am at that point where I was looking for a soul-surfing boat, something that I could jump in after a lay-off and just feel right, something forgiving, but also with the potential of dabbling in competitions if I ever have the time or inclination.

After one try in the Bullitt S I was convinced it fits the bill. Your outfitting has definitely moved on since the X-ray. I have always added foam to any boat I have ever had and I am sure the Bullitt will be no different but I fitted in the boat and felt comfortable straight off, even though the foot blocks were too far out for me.

Paddling out in the manky blown out onshore conditions at Godrevy felt easy (even relaxed). Rolling was no problem, I even took a late drop, got front endered and came back up surfing and smiling. I can’t say I really surfed the boat because of the conditions but the boat felt alive and I reckon it will be the soul surf boat that I am looking for, with enough performance to keep me excited, without the worry of getting spanked.

I think you are right that this boat will have quite a wide appeal and should be a great boat to introduce newcomers to the sport but will also work for the flyers in certain conditions. Can’t wait for it.

Cheers
